Business Class Flights to Eindhoven, Netherlands

Located in the southern Netherlands, Eindhoven has long been a business, industrial, and design hub. A mid-size city, Eindhoven has a population of about 240,000 people. The city’s outlying metro area is home to nearly 800,000 people. 

 

Many of the travelers who book flights to Eindhoven visit the city for business reasons. Eindhoven is the home of the multinational conglomerate tech giant, Philips, which was founded in the city in 1891. The city is also the home of European truck manufacturer DAF Trucks, NXP Semiconductors, and Signify lighting among several other high tech, biotechnology, and medical device companies. Though business trips make up many of the tickets purchase to Eindhoven, there are still many other things this city in the Netherlands has to offer.

Eindhoven International Airport serves about 6.7 million passengers each year, making it the second-largest airport in the Netherlands after Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam. 

 

Travelers who fly to Eindhoven will find that the city has an excellent public transportation system. Ground transport from Eindhoven International Airport into the city is available via train and bus service. Within the city itself, most residents avoid using cars, instead opting to use buses or ride bicycles to and from their destinations. Eindhoven has a large network of bicycle paths and a wide-reaching and affordable public bike rental program that even tourists can take advantage of. 

 

Eindhoven has long been known as a college town, and the large numbers of young people in the city have influenced its culture over time. Many of the people who fly to Eindhoven from other parts of the Netherlands and other European countries are students. Most of the students who book cheap tickets to Eindhoven come to the city to study technology and design. 

 

The Design Academy Eindhoven, one of four public universities in the city, specializes in art, architecture, and design. The Eindhoven University of Technology offers degree programs in industrial design, several types of engineering, computer science, physics, and chemistry, among other subjects. The city’s largest university, the Fontys University of Applied Sciences, has an enrollment of more than 44,000 students and offers degrees in more than 200 programs. 

 

Tourists who fly to Eindhoven will find several things to do and see in the city. Eindhoven is home to six museums, including the Van Abbemuseum, a contemporary art museum that has work by Picasso and Kandinsky in its collection. The city is also home to great deal of public art. Many of the city’s parks have several contemporary and modern sculptures on display. 

 

Because of its large student population, Eindhoven has a number of bars, cafes, and nightclubs that cater to young people, especially in the city’s historic Market Square. This makes Eindhoven a great spot for other young tourists looking for an active nightlife. 

 

Eindhoven hosts a number of cultural festivals each year. Many visitors book cheap flights to Eindhoven to attend them. Among the city’s most well-known festivals is the GLOW Festival in which artists and designers create light displays throughout the city using both traditional and new technologies. The GLOW Festival is held every November. Other popular Eindhoven festivals include the TROMP International Music Competition & Festival, held every other year; the Reggae Sundance reggae festival, held each August; the ABlive pop music festival held in September; and King’s Day, the Netherlands’ national holiday, April 27.
