Business Class Flights to Delhi, India

India’s National Capital Territory, Delhi, encompasses the country’s capital city, New Delhi. It is one of India’s most densely populated urban areas, with a population of more than 16 million people. The city of New Delhi alone is home to a population of more than 11 million people.

Business class flights to Delhi’s National Capital Region arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), which is located in the southwestern part of the region in the city of Palam. Named for Indira Gandhi, India’s former prime minister, Indira Gandhi International Airport is the busiest in India by passenger traffic, with more than 70 million people passing in and out of its gates each year.

The airport is a hub for several airlines, including Air India, Alliance Air, and FedEx Express.

Flights to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport are available from most large international airports around the world.

The Delhi National Capital Region is also served by a second, smaller airport, Hindon Airport (QAH), which is operated by the Indian Airforce and located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Travelers who books tickets to Delhi sometimes choose to have their flights arrive at this airport, depending on their final destinations.

Because its history dates back to 400 BCE, the territory of Delhi has long been home to a number of India’s iconic cultural and architectural sites and landmarks. The most famous of these is the Taj Mahal, which is located in the city of Agra. The enormous white marble palace and its outbuildings are located on an estate of more than 42 acres on the banks of the Yamuna River. The structure was built in the early 17th century by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan I as a mausoleum, or tomb, for his favorite wife.

The Taj Mahal is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the most frequently visited places in the world. More than 8 million people visit the complex each year, many of whom book first class or business class flights to Delhi in order to get there.

The Delhi National Capital Region is also home to several other popular attractions and events that attract millions of visitors each year. Because of the region’s close proximity to the country’s capital, New Delhi, many people come to the territory to participate in India’s Independence Day celebrations, which are held on August 15. Festivities include the annual Republic Day Parade, which attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators.

Delhi also hosts several other popular events including Diwali, a religious festival of lights, which is held in the fall, usually in October of November. The five-day long Qutub Festival of music, held in November each year, celebrates and showcases traditional and contemporary Sufi music, with concerts taking place daily in locations across the city of New Delhi.

Business travelers also commonly book flights to Delhi. The region is one of India’s largest and most important commercial hubs, with many businesses concentrated in or near the city of New Delhi. Among the area’s largest industries are technology and telecommunications companies, financial and insurance firms, and media companies, including television networks, film companies, newspapers, and radio broadcasters. Tourism, construction, energy production, healthcare, and real estate also make up a large part of the region's economy.

Among the largest and most well-known companies that have a presence in the Delhi region are Air India, Punjab National Bank, Amazon, Deloitte, PepsiCo, Oracle, and Unitech Group.

One of Delhi’s fastest growing industries is movie production. The region is home to a number of newer film studios that loosely unite themselves under the name “DollyWood.” These studios each produce dozens of films each year. Actors, producers, and professional film crews book tickets to Delhi frequently to work in the industry. The area’s most notable film production studios include the Imagine Film Company, Niv Art Movies, and the animation studio, Charuvi Design Labs.
