The Spring Break season is upon us, and the TSA is receiving scrutiny for lines stretching for hours.

With an enormous increase in number of people trying to get through security, the TSA is certainly understaffed.  This problem has caused passengers to miss flights nationwide and call out the TSA Chief to fix the issue immediately.  Some of the airports with unbearable long lines include Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Newark, where it took nearly three hours for people just to get through airport security. The TSA Chief Peter Neffenger’s response to this? Simply put, he stated that “It is no different than if you were to go to Disney World at peak of the season, you are expected to stand in some lines”.  Great! Except that in Disney World you only get to miss your ride, not your flight.

The issue arises with an expected 140 million passengers traveling this spring alone. In addition, the volume of passengers traveling has increased by 7%, compared to last year.  Also, the passengers are lugging more carry-on items in order to avoid check-in fees, adding on to the security check problem.  What does the TSA do to resolve this? They train a whopping 192 new officers a week.  While that may sound optimistic, the risk of missing a flight because of a long TSA line remains high.

With the TSA staffing being at its lowest point in five years, the only way to avoid the long wait is to go through a considerably shorter line, designated for Business and First Class passengers ONLY. That’s right! If you have purchased a Business or First Class airfare, you get to bypass the nonsense and carry on like the very important person that you are. While we still recommend that you arrive to the airport earlier than usual during peak travel times, rest assured, your time may be spent wisely at Business and First Class Lounges.  Time is essential our friends! Don’t waste it by standing in long TSA lines. On your upcoming trip, book yourself a Business Class ticket and call it a day.
