Starting in May, 2016 Air Canada will begin offering better business class seats for its travelers coming from Sydney-Vancouver. These seats will be on their upgraded Boeing 777-200LR jet sporting the same business class seats as their flagship Boeing 787 fleet.
In the fuselage there is expected to be 40 'Executive Pods' that will allow travelers to lie-flat if they feel the need to rest. The seats will also be arranged in the coming of age, 1-2-1 layout that gives every passenger access to the aisle. In addition to being able to lie flat, each seat will come with it's own 100% cotton duvet and an 18" flat-screen TV, as wellas noise-cancelling headsets.
This upgraded bird will also offer a "premium economy" option with 24 seats, with an included AC outlet. Paul McLean, Air Canada's General Manager had this to say on the topic:
“This development comes just one month after we announced plans to launch non-stop Brisbane-Vancouver services in June 2016 using our new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft”
and
“It means that not only is our network expanding out of Australia, but that from mid-2016 all of our passengers will experience our latest world-class on-board product.”
With the above in mind, it's important to remember that neither Air Canada, or any other airlines gets upgrades like these every-day.
