Cheap Business Class Flights to London Appeal to Travelers

As the capital city of England as well as of the United Kingdom, London is the target destination of many for discounted business class tickets. When asked about the capital of the world, the Economist’s Intelligent Life publication identified London, which was closely followed by New York. Factors that determined this ranking included the power and influence that the city wields, its income and overall wealth, the education of residents, connections on a global scale and – of course! – its culture.

Discounted business class airfare may transport you to Heathrow, Luton or Gatwick airports. Virgin Atlantic maintains a hub at Gatwick while EasyJet has chosen Luton. United Airlines flies into Heathrow. Public transportation takes some business travelers to their hotel destinations while others rely on shuttles or taxis for the movement of their luggage.

Since London is home to a stock exchange, the country’s bank and a major insurer (Lloyd’s of London), airfare first class is usually the ticket request for executives doing businesses in these sectors. Bookings for cheap business class tickets to London mark the destinations for those who visit the large number of European companies that maintain their headquarters in London. It is interesting to note that although the city itself features numerous bankers, financiers and brokers, others in this business have moved to the districts of Westminster and Canary Wharf.

When business is done for the day, take the time to see a little bit more of this bustling city. Although a business class ticket to London may have brought you in for work purposes, there is no reason not to spend the time off exploring the common tourist attractions. The Victoria and Albert Museum is dedicated to the era of the famous Queen Victoria and the Prince Consort Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. There are displays of textiles, books, glass, jewelry and fashion.

Another must-see locale is Madame Tussauds’ wax museum. A favorite display in this setting is the Sleeping Beauty, which was modeled after the Comtesse du Barry. Also popular are the figures of David Beckham and Nelson Mandela. For the history buff, there is the Tower of London. This historic fortress has a long and colorful history, which took a turn for the worse in the 16th century. At that time, the structure went from a palatial abode to a gilded prison and soon to little more than a stronghold that kept those who might jeopardize the English throne in captivity.

Yet if you can only visit one location during your stay in London, be sure to make it the British Museum. Founded in the 1700s, this museum has become the official repository of artifacts, rare manuscripts and prints. Admission is free, and the venue is open each day from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Priceless displays highlight Egyptian and Chinese histories. Due to Britain’s former empire power, many of these pieces were hand-collected by members of the military in foreign services.
