A small but densely populated country, South Korea, is located on the southern portion of the Korean Peninsula in East Asia. The country is nearly surrounded by water, including the Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean to its east and south, and the Yellow Sea to the west. South Korea, which shares a border with North Korea, has a population of more than 50 million people.

South Korea’s largest beer producers include HiteJinro and Oriental Brewery, which together produce nearly all of South Korea’s major beer brands. These include Hite, OB Golden Lager, Max, and Cass, all of which are widely available at restaurants and in stores throughout South Korea.
